  • the purposes for which your (personal) data are collected, processed and utilised,
  • how we intend to treat and protect your data,
  • who will be given access to the data and
  • your options to exercise your rights.

Please read carefully through the information below. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our data privacy officers. Please find the contact details at the bottom of this data privacy statement.

1. TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Data privacy is a complex topic. In order to facilitate the comprehensibility of this data privacy statement, we have compiled several basic explanations.

Simply put, "processing" (in short "P") according to Article 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GD-PR) [formerly referred to as "contract data processing" (in short "CDP") according to § 11 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)] refers to a service involving the collection, processing and/or utilisation of personal data upon instruction of the so-called responsible person by a service provider (processor according to GD-PR and contract data processor according to BDSG). Before a service provider is commissioned with such an order, we enter into a specific contract with that service provider and determine additional measures for the protection of your personal data.

"Cookies" are small text files that are saved to the terminal device you are using (e. g. computer or smartphone). The purpose of these files is to save certain settings and data required for the exchange of information between our system and your browser. A cookie usually contains the name of the visited website from which the cookie data were sent, information regarding the age of the cookie, and an alphanumeric identification tag. Cookies allow the systems involved to identify the user's terminal device and to make possible default settings available immediately.

A "third party" is any natural or legal person or body other than the affected person, the responsible person, the processor and those persons authorised (under the direct responsibility of the responsible person or the processor) to process the personal data (see also Article 4, No 10 of the GD-PR). Therefore, as an example, we do not speak of a third party if personal data are forwarded to a service provider within the framework of processing according to Article 28 of the GD-PR or § 11 of the BDSG.

IP addresses are digit sequences that can be allocated to individual IT devices or groups. Similar to postal addresses, IP addresses are used to allocate data to the correct recipient. "Personal data" refers to any information related to an identified or identifiable natural person. Examples for such data are name and surname, date of birth, email address, residential address, bank and payment details, but also health data (see also Article 4, No 1 of the GD-PR) (detailed information regarding an identified or identifiable natural person according to § 3, Subsection 1 of the BDSG).

A "person responsible" according to Article 4, No 7 of the GD-PR (formerly referred to as "body responsible" according to § 3, Subsection 7 of the BDSG) is any person or body authorised to determine the purpose and means of personal data processing independently or in liaison with other decision makers. (in the present case: the website operator).

Therefore, the IP address is required for the presentation of these contents. We try to only integrate contents the providers of which will use the IP address only for the delivery of the above contents.
